Education and career training can be one the most valuable investments you can make. Successful investment in your future will help you secure a career. Most students require financial aid services whether they attend a four-year college, a junior college or a career training school. In fact, most career training school candidates receive some sort of financial aid.

There are several financial aid programs available to help you with the funding of your career training. Some of these are federal, state or military grants or loans, while others might involve funds obtained from an employer. CCI Training Center provides several programs approved by the federal government, the Department Of Education. The financial aid office will also assist you to apply for private student loans as needed. Even individuals with no money, no job, and no credit can obtain the funds to attend CCI Training Center by working through the Financial Aid office. A dedicated representative from the CCI Financial Aid Department would be happy to sit down one-on-one with you to help you design a Financial Plan that works for you.

Attention High School Seniors: Scholarship Opportunity

DFW Seniors Scholarship

CCI Training Center has added five $1,000 scholarship opportunities for each high school in the North Central region in Texas. Eligibility requirements include:

  1. Scholarship is for High School Senior Level students only.
  2. Students must write an essay explaining why they should qualify and identify their program of interest available at CCI. The essay must be no less than two hundred words in length.
  3. Applicants must include a letter of recommendation from an instructor, counsellor or someone from within the Principal's office.

FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID

Federal Pell Grant

Eligibility is determined by the information that is provided when a student completes the FAFSA. The amount of the grant is based on the cost of attending CCI Training center, calculated expected family contribution (EFC). Award levels vary up to a maximum of $5,350 for award year 09-10.

Title IV Federal Student Financial Aid Student Eligibility:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an eligible program of study at CCI Training Center
  • Must be U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
  • Must have a valid Social Security number
  • May not be in default on federal student loans
  • Must not owe an overpayment on federal grants or loans
  • Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

How does the Office of Financial Aid determine Cost of Attendance? (COA)

Your cost of attendance at CCI Training Center is based on direct and indirect expenses. Direct educational expenses include tuition, supplies, books, registration fee, certification exams (cert. exams are program specific). Indirect costs include child care, food/housing, clothing, and other related "living" expenses. You only see direct expenses on college billing statements, students are able to see an estimated COA on award notifications on award letters provided in FA Office. Cost of attendance may vary based on the number of credits and length of your period of enrollment.

What is Financial Need or Need Analysis?

A student's financial aid package is based on the amount of financial need. The difference between the cost of attendance and the expected family contribution (EFC) is the student's financial need - the gap between the cost of attending CCI and student's resources.

Texas Workforce Commission Local One-Stop Centers

Workforce Investment Act (WIA)

The WIA program is administered through the Texas Workforce Commission. Grants are available through TWC to qualified unemployed, underemployed or displaced individuals.
