CCI is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship opportunity to veterans of the Iraq & Afghanistan wars. No Penalty Fees

As an individual in active military service you can be assured that there will be no incurred fines or additional fees if you need to suspend courses for active duty.

Veterans Administration Grants

Veterans may qualify for a number of educational or work related grant programs. Veterans should see http://www.gibill.va.gov for additional benefit information. See Veterans Assistance Services Veteran’s may also contact the veteran’s representative located at most Texas Workforce Centers.

Veterans Job or Training Assistance

Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) representatives can help veterans with benefits. These representatives can meet with veterans at their local One-Stop Career Center to assist with finding a job, training or education assistance.

Each county has a Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) available to describe transition services and other veteran benefits available. Veterans can find their CVSO by using the State Resources section of this web site or by contacting their county courthouse.

Veterans Transition Assistance Services

APPLICATION FOR VETERANS EDUCATIONAL ENTITLEMENT – Chapter 30 (Montgomery GI Bill)

This benefit is for those veterans who served on an active duty after June 30, 1985 (Category I), those who had remaining entitlement under the Vietnam Era GI Bill (Category II), and those who switched from VEAP
before being involuntarily separated after February 2, 1991 (Category III).

Active duty persons who contributed to the Montgomery GI Bill (Chapter 30) should have the member 4 copy of the DD Form 214 for submission along with the Application for Educational Entitlement (VA Form 22-1990). Submit the 22-1990, DD-214 and your VA Form 22-1999 (Submitted by the school’s Certifying Official) to the Veterans Administration Miscogee Okla, Fax # 918-781-7863.

Disabled / Injured Veterans / Chapter 31

Several resources and services are available to veterans and service members with service-related disabilities. One such service is training program. Department of Veterans Affairs Assists veterans with
service-connected disabilities by offering help in preparing for, finding, and keeping suitable employment. Veterans Benefits Terminology

Some Terminology as you leave your military service

• Discharge: Complete severance from all military status gained by the enlistment or induction concerned.
• Separation: A general term that includes discharge, release from active duty, release from custody and control of the Armed Forces, transfer to the Individual Ready Reserve, and
  similar changes in active or reserve status.
• Transition Benefits: Benefits provided to assist Service members during the transition process. Eligibility for certain types of transition benefits will depend on the nature and
  characterization of your discharge.
• Transition Services: All separating members are eligible for services one year prior to separation. Retiring Service members are eligible for transition services two years prior to and one
  year after retirement. Eligibility for services is not affected by length or character or service.

Veterans Job or Training Assistance

A variety of employment, job training and related services are available to veterans. These are the same services that are available to all customers including veterans, except that veterans are given priority of service. Veterans can search for jobs, receive priority service at Texas Workforce Solutions offices and access information on transition assistance and benefits.
