I started the Medical Billing and Coding back in January of this year, and I came in the program with an open mind, but not expecting to get nearly as much knowledge as I have. I am so blessed to have chosen CCI because of various reasons that I have noticed just being in the program. For one, I love love love all of the instructors that I have had to teach me because not only are the classes small enough to get direct one on one attention when you need help, but also the instructors are well educated and experienced in the Medical Coding and Billing field. Some have been in the field for 15+ years, so any question I ever ran into was answered with out a doubt and to their full capabilities.

When I began attending CCI, I came from another, much bigger school, for the same program. I was unhappy with the education & experience I was receiving at this other school. From my initial visit to CCI, I knew this school was perfect for me.
I started out at CCI as a single mom on unemployment. My unemployment was constantly running out & getting extended, therefore I just held onto a lot of hope that I would complete the program & find a job that I was thrilled to attend. Throughout the program the instructors were constantly mentioning some of the best companies to work for in my field. ..After I completed my classes I began faithfully applying daily to jobs… [After my second interview] the recruiter at the staffing company told me that the interviewer loved me and her mind was made up that she wanted to bring me on board. The recruiter said that the VP called him as soon as I left her office to tell him how impressed she was with me and was excited to bring me on board…. So here I was with my job offer and I was excited. I am excited for my future with this company.

I like my program, Computer & Network Administration, because CCI has prepared me to take certifications through more than just memorization…with hands-on training with instructors who have real world experience. I feel that CCI’s hands-on training has helped me to learn better and to succeed in the real world. The smaller class sizes allow the instructor to be more involved and direct. You never feel left out of any of the lecture. When you walk in to one of the testing centers you walk in with confidence that you will pass the test. I am really happy with my choice to attend CCI.

I enrolled in the Medical Coding & Billing program at CCI in hopes of a better future for myself. I was nervous, but very excited about furthering my education. I chose CCI because of its 25 years in operation, small classroom size, and their friendly and professional staff. This would allow me more hands-on training. I came to CCI with no prior medical background or experience and I have learned medical terminology, IC-9 and CPT coding and much, much more. In May 2009 I was laid off from my job as a purchasing agent at a local manufacturing facility. For the past 30 years, I had worked in purchasing and inventory control both in the construction and manufacturing worlds… My job prospects were slim to none. I realized I needed to change careers.
I found CCI by searching Texas Workforce Commission school listings after attending a workshop. CCI immediately took an active role in helping me get started with a new career. The entire staff at CCI welcomed me into the school. They answered all my questions, lessened my fears, and made me feel like family. CCI provided all the necessary tools; I began to build upon my new-found knowledge. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my training.
Three weeks after completing my externship, I found a job. CCI provided me with an excellent education. They even provided assistance, enabling me to obtain an insurance coding specialist certification. Thanks to CCI, I have a new reason to go to work each day!

I am the mother of four beautiful children and until just recently I worked a full time job and was forced to support a family of five on an $ 8.00 an hour income.  I hated my job, and everyday that I went to work was a miserable experience for me. I knew that in order for me to move forward  a provide a better life for myself and my children, I needed a new career, and that’s when I found CCI.
It was a challenging experience working full time, supporting 4 children and going back to school after 18yrs. However, the instructors at CCI were very patient, and always went the extra mile to make sure that I understood the lesson being taught. I found the instructors to be very interesting, they brought more than text book knowledge to the class but experience too. The school not only offered courses that were needed for medical billing and coding  but they offered courses that would prepared me for the work environment and update me on what employers were looking for when interviewing perspective employees.
After completing my externship hours I immediately started interviewing. A month after being out of school I was employed. I am now being supervised by a former CCI student who has only been out of school 1 year. I am glad that I made the decision to enroll in school after 18 yrs and I would like to thank the staff and CCI for my accomplishments.

As I entered the door of CCI Training Center I knew I was “home”. The warm, friendly greeting of the receptionist, the sincere “I am interested in you” of the admissions personnel and everything in between let me know that there was no need to look further. The instructor’s knowledge and ability to relate to each student’s style of learning was superb.
Even after I graduated in January 2010, CCI continued to find ways to help. They became a testing site for certification and offered a prep class which enabled me to enter my chosen field as a certified coder. This certification along with the efforts of CCI’s job placement team was how I landed the interview for the medical billing company where I work today.
I look forward to work each day and absolutely love what I do.
